Help & Answers

Sometimes production can be puzzling. Here you’ll find straightforward answers to common questions about placing a vinyl pressing order. Browse the FAQs below for clear, practical information to help you succeed and bring more good music to the world.

Ordering & Costs

What's your minimum order quantity?

The minimum order is 100 records. However, ordering 250 or more significantly reduces the cost per record, giving you better overall pricing.

How can I reduce the cost of vinyl pressing?

To lower costs choose standard 140-gram black or marble vinyl, simple sleeves, and basic packaging. Ordering higher quantities will also significantly reduce your price per record.

What payment terms do you offer?

We typically request a 50% deposit upfront, with the remaining balance due upon completion and before shipment.

Timeline & Process

How long does it take to press vinyl records?

Standard turnaround is around 8 weeks, or 5 weeks for express orders. We recommend adding at least 2 extra weeks for approvals, shipping, and any unexpected delays. If your deadline is critical, please let us know.

Do you offer test pressings?

Yes. Test pressings are required to ensure the quality of your records meets expectations. They help confirm your music sounds exactly as intended before full production.

Can I skip test pressings?

No, test pressing approval is mandatory. Skipping it won’t save time or money, as test pressings are always included in the price. They’re essential for ensuring your music sounds exactly as intended before full production.

Can I reorder more vinyl later?

Yes, reorders are easy. We keep your stampers for quick and cost-effective future pressings.

Requirements & Preparations

Do I need copyright clearance?

Yes. You must obtain a mechanical license to legally press records containing music you don’t fully own (e.g., cover songs or samples). As a pressing plant, we require proof of licensing or completed intellectual property rights forms before manufacturing your vinyl. This protects you, the rights holders, and ensures legal compliance.

What audio formats do you accept for production?

We accept audio in WAV or AIFF format at 24-bit, 44.1 kHz or higher.

Can I provide my own lacquers or DMMs?

Yes, we accept externally produced lacquers and DMMs for vinyl pressing.

Can you help me with audio mastering?

Yes. We can review your audio master to ensure it meets vinyl pressing requirements. Our engineers can also professionally master your music specifically for vinyl, CD, cassette and streaming platforms, helping your release stand out in the market.

How can I achieve the best sound quality for my vinyl record?

To achieve the best possible sound quality, we recommend using the same engineer for mastering and lacquer cutting. This helps avoid unexpected results, ensures consistency across formats, and delivers optimal audio quality for your vinyl release.
